Andrew Cainey: Andrew Cainey has lived and worked for most of the past thirty years in China, Korea and Singapore, advising businesses and governments, having first visited China in 1981. He now leads initiatives on UK-China relations; analyses China’s development at home and abroad, and how others are reacting; and helps companies navigate the shift to a multipolar world where economics and security intertwine. He is the co-author of Xiconomics: What China’s Dual Circulation Strategy Means for Global Business.
He is a Senior Associate Fellow, International Security, at the Royal United Services Institute; a non-executive director of Schroder Asian Total Return Investment Company plc; and a Senior Advisor to Boston Consulting Group and to Lumen Capital Investors in Singapore.
Mr Cainey was previously a founding director of the UK National Committee on China CIC and has held China and Asia leadership roles with Tony Blair’s government advisory practice, Boston Consulting Group and Booz & Company.
