Gordon is currently a Non-Executive Director of HK listed Swire Pacific, Lenovo and Meituan, of UK listed Fidelity China Special Situations Investment Trust and of Stockholm listed EQT AB. He was on the Board of CBBC from 2015 to 2024.

Gordon spent his earlier career at McKinsey, largely in China. He moved to Beijing in 1994, opening McKinsey’s practice in China. Gordon led McKinsey’s Greater China practice for many years, becoming Chairman of McKinsey Asia. Gordon was on McKinsey’s global board of directors from 2003 to 2015 with responsibilities for Asia, Governance and Risk.
