Professor Sue Welburn is Executive Dean of Zhejiang University – University of Edinburgh Joint Institute (ZJE) at Zhejiang International Campus and founding Director of the Global Health Academy and Professor of Medical and Veterinary Molecular Epidemiology at Edinburgh Medical School: Biomedical Sciences, College of Medicine & Veterinary Medicine, the University of Edinburgh. The ZJE Institute is the University of Edinburghs largest international partnership delivering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate degrees under a 4 Zero Model at Zhejiang University International Campus, Haining, China. Over 600 UG and 200 postgraduates undertaking UK degrees are on programme undertaking Biomedical and Biomedical Informatics degrees. The campus is situated at the centre of a business park placing students at the heart of a business ecosystem. Sue is also the UK Convenor of the British Council supported UK-China Joint Institute Alliance since established in 2017 which supports 45 UK China large scale Educational Partnerships. Sue has held several senior management positions at University of Edinburgh including the roles of Assistant Principal Global Health and Vice Principal Global Access.
